... The term "Vitamins" originally was not true? The term "vitamin" was proposed in 1912 by a Polish scientist, chemist Kazemirom Funk.  At first it sounded like "vitamayn" - from the Latin vita - life and the British amine - amine nitrogen compounds.  Later, when it was discovered vitamin C, which does not contain an amine component, the letter "e" from the word «vitamine» removed.  So there was a widespread nowadays the word "vitamin".
