PARASITES: u n r e a l i z e d threat to health!

Ankylostoma. It’s world- wide spread. Larvae of this large- toothed worm are patiently waiting for their victim to step on them with a bare-foot. Hookworms immediately penetrate through the spores into the blood vessels. The blood transports the larvae into the lungs, from where they get into the mouth cavity. With the food you’ve swallowed they move down the gastrointestinal tract, where their journey is finally over – larvae of this parasite grow into adults in the small intestine. Larvae produced by them go out with feces and start waiting for another victim. Outgrowths shaped like teeth help these bloodsuckers cling to the walls of blood vessels. The result is sad: Ankylostoma infestation - anemia. At the most difficult stage of the disease there are such inevitable symptoms as: diarrhea, stomachaches, an overwhelming desire to eat different junk things (for instance, clay), delay of children’s growth and excessive fatiguability.
Facts:
According to the data presented by WHO (1995), infectious and parasitic diseases take away 15- 16 million lives every year!
Specialists-parasitologysts state that 8 of 10 children under school age are infested by worms.
Numerous researches and dissection of the patients who died of various lesions of gastrointestinal tract organs showed that in most cases they were caused by lamblia that affects the gallbladder and its ducts, intestines, etc. Every second man is a carrier of lamblia worms.
Do we need to say these facts are rather terrifying?
Years of researches have proved it’s rather difficult to arrive at the truth and to find helminthosis. Helminths living in a man for some time, there appears intoxication – the body’s being gradually poisoned by waste products of these worms. There increases fatiguability, appetite rises or, on the contrary, there’s lack of it, there appear headaches, allergic reactions, unmotivated temperature increase, pains in muscles, stomachaches, cough, metabolic disturbances, anemia, weakness, etc. Some of helminths cause allergies, bronchial asthma, epilepsy and paralysis. Children suffer from delay of their mental and physical development.
And the more qualitative food a person eats, the longer helminths, ascarids, and others live, the more active they are, as they get the lion’s share of those vitamins that a man must get from his food.
In neglected cases “a colony” of worms in a human body can contain dozens of thousands of different species of settlers. They can live in any corner of the body.
Helminthoses is, first of all, a child’s problem. As a child’s protective barriers haven’t been formed yet, and his stomach acidity is lower than that of an adult. Besides, a baby who has start to actively explore the world, “turns on” all sense organs. He necessarily wants to taste every object.
Parasites – where do they come from ? In order not to forget a single source of parasites, we’d better say – FROM EVERYWHERE.
AIR: we breathe in dust with eggs or cysts of parasites.
SWIMMING IN FRESHWATER RESERVOIRS. For instance, eggs of shistosomes are excreted with urine, and developing larvae get into a human body through the skin.

BEACHES: Water samples on some beaches don’t correspond to hygienic norms, and in the soil there were found eggs of ascarids and toxokars - a dog’s ascarid (we intentionally haven’t mentioned the place, where these samples were taken from, ecological situation on the beaches of different cities is nearly the same).
GROUND AND SAND-BOXES, where our children play very often. From 30 to 50% of soil samples, taken for analysis from yard sand-boxes and grassy areas turned out to be contaminated not only by feces of animals (both domestic and stray animals), but also by eggs of various helminths (worms). Workers of medical inspection service found eggs of toxokars, ascarids, whipworms and even pinworms.

FOOD:
- vegetable, fruit, berries. The most frequently used fertilizers are feces of animals and people.
- fish and meat. If they’re underdone, there’s danger of being worm-infested.
Our cuisine has become Japanized (a popular dish – “Sushi”). Now Mexican cuisine is also becoming fashionable (and its “Cevici”). The main ingredient of dishes of these cuisines is raw fish. You can’t even imagine how many Japanese, Koreans and Mexicans are worm-infested due to the use of raw fish. There’s a delusion that hot spices do away with parasites. It’s a big delusion! Seasoning and spices are used to add some taste to fish.

DITRY HANDS: not only your own dirty hands, but also dirty hands of salesmen, workers of food industry and public catering. Recently, workers of MEDICAL INSPECTION SERVICE of Russian Federation have taken some samples of bread, sold in shops and stalls and they’ve found lots of helminth species, such as trihinella, liver suckers, flat worms and many others , among which there were found eggs of ascarids and beef tapeworm.

MONEY: People are infested from bank-notes mainly due to their habit to wet with saliva their fingers while counting money, or again through dirty hands. For instance, in banks of the USA, France and Germany the procedure of money desinfection has become a norm. In Japan you can get your cash in “pure bankomats”, which give out your money after thermal processing to about 200°C. In Russia, Ukraine, Byelorussia and Moldova there’s no such money desinfection, as specialists of banking sphere state.

PETS. Let’s take cats. One gram of their feces contains about 20 million cysts of Toxoplasma. Children are 100% susceptible to toxoplasmosis. Dogs can infect you with dog’s tapeworm (echinococcus), and echinococcosis can be treated only surgically, as this species of worm can live in any organ of a human body (heart, liver, brain, etc.)

RESORT: in most cases our tourists bring “smuggled worms” from Egypt, Turkey, Morocco, Tunisia, Indonesia. As to the possibility to be infested, the most dangerous vacation routes are countries of Africa, Central and Southern America, Asia. And remember “ stars of a hotel ” aren’t an index of health. People often get infested not only due to local water and food, but also due to mosquitoes which through their bite “provide” into your body eggs of worms and even larvae of insects, which grow there perfectly well.

“What can we do? Our world isn’t sterile!”, you can say

In the picture: in the sick person’s lifetime – suspicion of heart disease. After dissection – the heart, torn by toxokars (dog’s ascarids).

People, anxious for their health, have been treating for years their heart, kidneys, liver without any success. Strictly specialized doctors whom they have been consulting can’t see the entire picture. A cardiologist treats the heart, a urologist – nephritis, a surgeon insists on the necessity of an operation … and a frightened patient runs away, out of the harms way… Which of these doctors is right? Every one of them is right to some extent, as changes take place simultaneously in several parts of the body. But remember that 99% of all diseases that we suffer from are infectious by their nature. And, according to the statistics, parasitologysts are sure that almost all diseases are caused by parasites! So, it’s necessary to treat not consequences of a disease or a separate organ, but the CAUSE! We should think it over if it isn’t our own illiteracy or inertness that make us suffer, as well as a thought “it will never happen to me” (about worms).

If you found that you’re worm-infested, all your family must undergo the treatment, and your pets must be treated too in order to avert a recurring infestation. We are responsible for our health and life. And the best way to preserve our health is not to treat, but to take preventive measures against diseases in due time. “Preventive measures” should be understood as cleansing our body from poisons, toxins, parasites, infections, fungi, wastes, etc. Purity of our body is a pledge of health.
