Alfalfa is a unique plant. Arabians once considered it to be the precursor of all food. Alfalfa contains triterpene saponins, steroids, coumarins, flavonoids, isoflavons, atocians, vitamins E, K, B1, B6, C, carotinoids, macro- and microelements (including fluorine) and a large quantity of chlorophyll.
Due to the high content of biologically active agents, alfalfa produces wide-ranging favorable action on the human body.
Saponins combats cholesterol and blocks its absorption, causing its level in blood to decrease and prevent it from developing  vessel atherosclerosis and cardio-vascular system diseases, such as CHD, stenocardia, myocardial infarction, essential hypertension, and cerebral blood circulation.
A high content of vitamin K provides anti-hemorrhoid activity, preventing extravasations and hemorrhage predisposition; therefore alfalfa can be applied for preventive purposes and complex restoration for different forms of hemorrhagic symptoms
Alfalfa produces anti-inflammatory action, especially for arthritis, assists in toxin excretion from the body.
It is a diuretic, assisting in the excretion of uric acid salts, providing treatment for gout. In addition, it is rich in chlorophyll, which is an important combination for prevention and restorative treatment for anemia.
Due to the presence of isoflavons, Alfalfa produces estrogenic-like activity and increases lactation for nursing mothers, and it is also useful for women at menopause and for breast cancer prevention.
Alfalfa is one of many plants that contain fluorine of vegetable origin, which deposits mainly in tissues of teeth. It assists in the formation of enamel and helps prevent development of tooth decay, producing bactericidal action on the microorganisms that appear in tooth cavities of decay and periodontosis.
Alfalfa produces favorable effect for:
  • atherosclerosis (plaque deposits on the inner lining of arterial walls)
  • cardio-vascular system diseases, CHD and heart attack
  • adiposity (fat or obesity)
